Dan Bruinooge was raised in Northern New Jersey and currently resides in Los Angeles. Much of his early art education came from visiting New York’s art museums on a regular basis as a teenager, gaining a deep fascination in oil painting, its rich history, and various trajectories from early Modernism to present day. Concurrently, Dan studied music as a drummer, pianist and composer. Having a strong interest in both art and music, he moved to California to obtain a BFA from CalArts, studying with faculty members such as Charles Gaines and Wadada Leo Smith. He continues both practices, collaborates with performance artists and musicians, and works in architectural restoration and design. Dan has a solo album coming out next summer under the name Hot Wheels. GOOD TASTE is his first solo show.
GOOD TASTE WAS ON VIEW AT THE JONES INSTITUTE AT MINNESOTA STREET PROJECT 12 OCTOBER — 31 OCTOBER 2023
